About Us

Our Approach

While there are many Pilates, PT, Yoga and Movement studios in town, at Center Strength we realize that your time is precious and the hour or so you spend at a studio should be enjoyable.  So, we work hard to create an intimate, welcoming, safe and approachable environment for our clients no matter their experience or skill level.  To us those are important ingredients to ensure you stick to your work out even when the initial motivation just isn’t quite there.

While many studios try and fit as many clients into their classes as possible, we think workouts and wellness should be more individualized and the attention more personal.  At Center Strength, we focus on smaller groups and a more intimate experience. We offer private, semi-private (2 persons) and group classes (3 to 5 persons).  At the Movement Studio in our new South Broadway location, you won’t find the need to squeeze next to another class member. With natural light and real oak floors, while we could fit more–our Yoga, Barre and Movement community classes max out at 20 client members.

Our Instructors

Rather than being whetted to one method of Pilates, our instructors are trained in a variety of Pilates methodologies including Stott, Polestar, Classic and others. This approach ensures your personal fitness needs and limitations are the primary focus of your sessions vs trying to fit all clients into a “one size fits all” methodology box.

Our instructors love what they do. And as many of them have been with Center Strength for over 8 years, they get to know their clients’ needs and goals. They work with runners, expectant mothers, golfers, weekend warriors and clients seeking rehabilitation and post rehabilitation assistance, between the ages of 18 and 80.

Our Locations

You won’t find us in a Strip Mall. Located on Old South Gaylord Street in Washington Park and our new Studio at 1842 S. Broadway (and newly acquired Golden Pilates in Golden), we think our charming neighborhood settings adds to the enjoyment of visiting our Studios. After a session or class on South Gaylord, grab a cup of coffee, delightful pastry or meal at Devils Food Bakery; fresh flowers or a unique gift at The Tended Thicket; shoes, bags or jewelry at Two Sole Sisters; or a bite at the bevy of Restaurants on the block.  Just minutes away you can find art galleries, a wine shop, clothing stores and an array of other small business owners.

With 20+ foot ceilings and brick walls, our Broadway Studio is located in a lovely “warehouse” feeling space built in the 1930s’. Our neighbors Mehdi and Crystal at Eurocrepes, are the best–with a warm, friendly “Come join us” attitude and wonderful crepes, paninis, salads and cocktails. Antique stores abound including Scandinavian Antiques, Corvus Coffee and Azucar Peruvian Bakery are within walking distance. Fun and Energizing.
